How to choose a coffee table for your Living Room

We are often asked about our coffee tables and how to go about choosing the right table for your space. If you’re like us, your coffee table has a whole host of functions, from footrest to drinks repository or beautifully styled as a platform for your collection of coffee table books.

Choosing the right size and style for your home can be tough though and we often get questions from customers about how to make this decision.

1.) Function | Do you want to be able to store books atop, or keep clear to be able to gather round for movie night drinks?

2.) Materials | Consider the materials you may want to add to your room. Will a sleek and contemporary stone, marble or slate table work or is the soft tones of wood going to complement your space better?

3.) Size | This is all to do with your space, but most importantly, your coffee table should be close in height to your sofa, one or two inches below it. It should also be at least half the length, otherwise proportionally it looks odd!

4.) Style | When considering the top of your coffee table, look at the other shapes you have in the room. Boxy rooms and couches benefit from circular or oval tops and long rooms work well with a more rectangular piece. Angled see-through legs can add a greater feeling of space, whilst a simpler sleeper base can add clean lines to an otherwise busy room.

We have a range of coffee and side tables for all spaces.
